YAOUNDE, Cameroon (CR) – Cameroon has been ranked 119th among 131 economies of the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2020, according to a report.
The GII ranks world economies according to their innovation capabilities.
Consisting of roughly 80 indicators, grouped into innovation inputs and outputs, the GII aims to capture the multi-dimensional facets of innovation.
The statistical confidence interval for the ranking of Cameroon in the GII 2020 is between ranks 116 and 124.
Relative to GDP, Cameroon is performing below expectations for its level of development.
Cameroon produces more innovation outputs relative to its level of innovation investments, the report said.
