Cameroon midfielder Raoul Loe has joined China League One side Shaanxi Chang’an Athletic, the club revealed on Thursday.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who stands 1.92-meter tall, had played as a CA Osasuna player between the 2011-2012 and 2016-2017 season, scored five goals and contributed four assists for the Spanish La Liga side.

In the season 2012-2013, Loe had his first La Liga goal when facing F.C Barcelona. He joined in the Qatar league in the 2016-2017 season. And between the years 2017 and 2019, he played league matches in both Bulgaria and Cyprus.

Leo played the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, representing Cameroon. In his career, he had 12 appearances for the ‘Lion of Africa’.

Besides Loe, two non-Chinese players, Nigerian striker Kingsley Onuegbu and Cameroon international Robert Ndip Tambe, have joined the second-tier club in northwest China’s Shaanxi province.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced on August 26 that the 2020 China League One season will kick off on September 12.

The second-tier league will take place behind closed doors. In the first period, the 18 teams will be divided into three groups, following the traditional league duo-robin format.

Chang’an Athletic is in Group B with Meizhou Kejia, Guizhou Hengfeng, Zhejiang Greentown, Liaoning Shenyang and Jiangxi Liansheng. All the Group B matches will be played in Meizhou, Guangdong province.

On September 13, the team from Shaanxi will start its season campaign, facing Jiangxi.
